MeetMULTIVAC: Innovation Centre Manager
Introducing the team at MULTIVAC
30.06.2026
At MULTIVAC, our people share the same vision and values to help process and package what is valuable to your business, but how much do you know about the different areas of our business, and the people who make it all happen?
We’re making business more human and introducing you to some of our hard-working, knowledgeable, employees from the various departments at MULTIVAC.
It’s our June instalment of MeetMULTIVAC ...
Garry Miles, Innovation Centre Manager
What do you do at MULTIVAC? Describe your role ...
As Innovation Centre Manager at MULTIVAC, I support the development and delivery of new packaging solutions by working closely with customers, engineers and product specialists. I help coordinate trials, testing and demonstrations in the Innovation Centre, enabling customers to explore new technologies and improve their packaging processes, while sharing insights to support product development.
How long have you worked at MULTIVAC in your role? Have you had any other roles at MULTIVAC?
I’ve been with MULTIVAC for 14 years. I started as a Service Technician, spending 11 years supporting customers with installations, maintenance and troubleshooting in the Southwest. I then moved into my current role as Innovation Centre Manager, where I focus on developing and showcasing new packaging solutions.
What do you like about working at MULTIVAC? What’s your favourite part of your job?
I enjoy the variety and the chance to work closely with customers to bring new ideas to life. Every project is different, which keeps the role interesting.
My favourite part is seeing a concept turn into a working solution during trials and knowing it will make a real difference to a customer’s production.
What are you generally working on at the moment which you are happy to share?
At the moment, I am focusing on improving the customer experience, developing systems to streamline processes and strengthening how we capture and use data from trials.
What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any interesting hobbies?
Outside of work, I like to keep active and unwind. I enjoy going to the gym and getting out fishing when I can. Recently, I converted a transporter into a camper van, so I’m looking forward to getting away on some new adventures and making the most of it.
What’s one thing you wish more people knew about your role?
One thing I wish more people knew is how hands on and collaborative the role is. It’s not just about showcasing equipment, it’s about working closely with employees and customers to solve real challenges, test ideas and fine-tune solutions so they work in practice.
What’s your favourite way to start your workday?
My favourite way to start the day is with a trip to the gym. It sets me up with plenty of energy and focus for the day ahead.
What’s the best part about working with your team?
The best part about working with my team is how well we share ideas and support each other. Everyone brings something different, so we figure things out together and have a good laugh along the way. It makes the job a lot more enjoyable.
If you could rename your job title to something fun, what would it be? And why?
I’d call it ‘Chief Packaging Wizard‘ because I get to experiment, test and turn ideas into real solutions - a bit like magic. It fits the role as I help customers bring concepts to life and make their packaging work smarter.
Tell us something we don’t know! A surprising or fun fact about you …
I’m married to Jo Miles in Learning & Development (L&D), which most people already know … but it does mean I have to make extra sure I’m always on my best behaviour at work!
Stay tuned for next month‘s instalment of MeetMULTIVAC!
